Research Scientist – Analytical Chemist

This chemist position will provide analytical and technical support during the product development process to R&D and manufacturing. Expertise to drive supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and Prep-HPLC is a must. This position will require coordination of products and resources, prioritization of samples, positive customer interactions, design of experiments with bioassay directed fractionation (BDF), and the ability to generate and interpret results. This includes the development, improvement, revision and validation of existing chemistry methods and the evaluation of new technologies to support product claims and critical characteristics with predominately nutriceutical products. Demonstrated capabilities will include those in related technologies and sciences, including recognition as a key resource in a given technical discipline. Preferred candidates would have a background in herbal/natural products. This role contributes to the development of creative solutions for the resolution of research problems. This role involves work with teams for the resolution of research problems. Works in a lab environment. Some travel will be required.

Bachelors degree in Science discipline and 5-7 yrs experience. Consideration for less work experience may be given to candidates completing a Masters Degree or PhD. The desired candidate would have extensive experience in the operation and use of prep-HPLC and SFE extractions. The preferred candidate will have experience with fractionation related to a nutriceutical area. The candidate will also be able to conduct basic characterization of the resulting fractions by HPLC, GC, HPTLC, etc. Knowledge in the nutriceutical area is a plus. The candidate should have excellent written and spoken communication skills.
