The University of Kansas has immediate
openings for two Research Associates to develop new
synthetic routes to structurally diverse sulfur- and
phospshorus-containing small molecules that will serve as
pharmaceutical and chemical agents and perform research
on development of immobilized reagents and corresponding
technologies using ring-opening methathesis
polymerization (ROMP). Requires a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry or closely related field; 3 years experience using instruments such as NMR, IR, GC and HPLC; 2 years experience in synthetic aspects of organo-sulfur and organo-phosphorus compounds, including techniques in handling air-sensitive material; 1 year experience with polymer chemistry and immobilized reagents; and 1 year experience in lab management and mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students.
