The Department of Chemistry at NC State University provides professional education for chemists at the undergraduate and graduate levels; teaches introductory chemistry courses, which are needed by students enrolled in other department programs; advances the discipline of chemistry by conducting research; serves the public by sharing information about chemistry through a variety of mechanisms and services; and commits to creating environments that are in alignment with our mission, vision, and values. | Essential Job Duties The Department of Chemistry is seeking to fill a Professional Track Teaching position beginning August 16, 2023. This Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor position will primarily instruct lecture and laboratory courses as determined by departmental scheduling. Teaching responsibilities for this position can include lecture courses at the undergraduate level in General Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry. Teaching responsibilities may also include the coordination of (TA supported) laboratory courses in General Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry. Rank is commensurate with education & experience. Course responsibility involves the following:
Outside of teaching, the Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor is expected to serve on departmental committees and serve as an academic advisor to undergraduate Chemistry majors. This position reports to the Department Head. |
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
Minimum of a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or a related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Teaching and/or research experience in analytical chemistry.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the college or university level in Chemistry, Chemical Education or related field.
