Description

Hours of Work: 4/10’s, 6 am-5 pm, M-Th

The ideal candidate will have ten plus years of experience and a Ph.D. in a water-related field, and publications in Water Quality Research and Development.

Water Quality Research and Development Manager is responsible for managing, overseeing, and coordinating SNWA’s comprehensive programs of advanced scientific and engineering research on emerging issues in water quality and water treatment. The incumbent is responsible for formulating long-term programs for research in promising areas of inquiry and for promoting and securing funding sources to support research and development internally and through research partnerships and consortia. Responsibilities require expert knowledge of the scientific and engineering principles and processes applicable to water quality and treatment, areas of emerging research inquiry in water treatment and related industries, and developing trends in regulatory schema. Work is carried out with a high degree of independence and accountability and is evaluated on the basis of overall results.



Requirements

Training and Experience:

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university and an advanced degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering or chemistry or a closely related program of study; relevant published scientific research and ten years of increasingly responsible experience in water quality research, water treatment process development and related environmental analysis; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

A valid Nevada driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.
