The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Juniata College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biochemistry, beginning Fall 2026. We seek a candidate who is committed to undergraduate teaching and research in a liberal arts setting.
Teaching Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching biochemistry at the undergraduate level in both classroom and lab settings. These courses will support undergraduate academic programs in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, and neuroscience. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach courses or labs in either introductory chemistry or organic chemistry.
Research Expectations
In addition to teaching, the candidate is expected to build and sustain a research program that engages undergraduate students in the candidate’s field of research. Juniata College supports faculty scholarship by providing support for external grant seeking, internal awards, and collaborative opportunities across departments.
