Description
The responsibilities of this position entail intellectual contributions to research activities linked to electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering.
Responsibilities comprise supporting full-time Pitt faculty and students in the following tasks:
- Developing study designs
- Drafting and editing journal publications
- Preparing reports that summarize the work conducted for progress reports to funding agencies
- Evaluating research outcomes in terms of their technical validity and intellectual impact
Required Educational Background: The applicant must have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a related field with specific training in electrochemistry or electrochemical engineering.
For the research component of the position, the required skillset includes:
- At least 8 years of experience as a research team leader at an academic institution
- PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Strong record of scholarship in the area of electrochemical engineering, with specific experience in energy storage, electrosynthesis, and electrocatalysis.
Other required skill sets include: experience in the preparation of research progress reports and direct engagement with outside stakeholders (public and private funders, research collaborators); a strong interest in basic and applied research; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work both independently and within a team structure delivering project components on given time schedules; ability to manage multiple independent research projects simultaneously.
