Postdoc position(s) in RNA biochemistry/structural biology (Keane Lab, University of Michigan)
The Keane Lab (Biophysics Program, University of Michigan) is currently recruiting 2 Postdoctoral Research Fellows. The initial appointment as a Research Fellow is for one year with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of work, and the availability of funding.
The Keane lab seeks to investigate the structure and dynamics of functional noncoding RNAs and RNPs. We use an array of biochemical, cell biology, and biophysical techniques to characterize RNA structure, RNA-RNA, RNA-protein, and RNA-small molecule interactions. We seek a highly motivated postdoc with a positive outlook, experience in RNA biochemistry and/or structural biology, and the adaptability to quickly learn new skills. Successful applicants should hold a Ph.D. in: Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Previous experience in a research laboratory and writing papers is essential. Skills that are desired, but not required, include experience with biomolecular NMR (proteins or nucleic acids), SAXS, analytical ultracentrifugation, and/or mammalian cell culture. More information about the lab can be found on our website (http://sites.lsa.umich.edu/keane-lab/).
Research Fellows in the Keane lab are expected to assume leadership of their projects and serve as mentors to both graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.
