How you will make an impact:
As a Project Engineer, you will be accountable for planning, designing, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and supervising projects related to new product development, continuous improvement, and infrastructure maintenance. You'll collaborate with managers to address manufacturing challenges, oversee upgrades to existing systems, and manage projects from basic to complex for pulp, paper, and security feature production. Your work will drive innovation and operational excellence, ensuring our teams have the tools and support needed to succeed.
Manage assigned projects from inception to completion.
Design, plan, estimate, prepare/submit budgets, initiate projects, schedule and supervise equipment installations.
Provide support to R&D, Manufacturing, Inspection, Process Control, and Maintenance groups.
Coordinate with maintenance personnel and contracted labor to support project completion, ensuring compliance with company policies and OSHA safety standards.
Work alongside senior engineers and supervisors to coordinate installation and construction schedules with manufacturing, maintenance, suppliers, contractors, and other departments.
Solicit and review quotes, assess timelines, and engage local machine shops and service vendors for equipment design and modifications.
Regularly update Manufacturing and Engineering teams on project progress, including financial updates and project timelines.
Assist in creating and organizing project documentation and training materials, working closely with senior engineers during testing and installation phases.
Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
Required:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or commensurate experience.
Ability to generate and evaluate technical specifications for papermaking systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), tact and diplomacy at all levels for dealing with suppliers and building/leading teams.
Must possess solid computer skills with Windows based programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook at a minimum.
For all U.S. positions: Must be a U.S. Citizen with an ability to demonstrate and maintain suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements.
Preferred:
At least 1 to 3 years of project management or engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience managing all aspects of capital projects (valued at $0K-$1M) involving multiple disciplines, preferably in a paper making or industrial environment.
Strong understanding of Machine Design, including power transmission, linkages and levers, and basic machining practice.
Detailed knowledge of the pulp and paper making process and associated equipment.
Knowledge and experience in AutoCAD, with ability to create designs and layouts from initial concepts and/or existing designs.
Troubleshooting, fault analysis and problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this role is $105,000 118,000 annually. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
