- Spatial Omics mass spec Post Doc position
Description
The Center for Precision Medicine in The Department of Medicine, at the University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA) is focused on identifying biomarkers and therapeutic targets by ‘Omics’ approaches. The laboratory uses multi-omics tools along with human biosamples, animal models and cell culture studies to integrate basic research to translational medicine.
Summary of Research: Selected candidate will be responsible for and participating in:
1. Targeted quantitative metabolomics analysis of urine, plasma and tissue samples from mouse and human using CE-MS, LC-MS, GC-MS and MALDI-mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) .
2. Untargeted multi-omics analysis of urine, plasma and tissue samples using LC-MS.
3. Data processing and interpretation, manuscript preparation, and data presentation at national and international conferences.
4. The maintenance of numerous mass spectrometers and related instruments present in the laboratory as well as training new scientists on these experimental technologies.
