Job Summary
This postdoctoral research role focuses on observational extragalactic astronomy using imaging and spectroscopy data from major ground-based and space-based observatories. The position involves working on large survey programs and collaborative research projects centered on galaxy evolution and the circumgalactic medium, with opportunities to contribute to both existing studies and independently driven research.
The researcher will collaborate with an international team of scientists and may dedicate a portion of their time to developing new projects aligned with their scientific interests. The appointment is expected to begin in Summer or Fall 2026, with flexibility on the start date. The initial term is one year, with anticipated renewal for up to three years based on performance and funding availability.
Key Responsibilities

Requirements
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Astronomy, Physics, Planetary Science, or a closely related field by the start of the appointment Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
Data reduction and analysis of space-based observations Galaxy evolution Circumgalactic medium studies Spectral energy distribution modeling Morphological classification Lyman continuum or Lyman-alpha escape Strong ability to work independently, learn new techniques, and manage research projects Effective collaboration and communication skills
