Electrical Engineer – Mass Spec Hardware
Upstate New York
Our client is seeking an established Electrical Engineer with circuit design and embedded hardware / firmware experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Research and development of analog and digital systems for new and existing mass spectrometers
- Design and troubleshoot complex circuitry for ion filtering under high vacuum
- Layout new PCBs for use in high voltage instrumentation
- Work in collaboration with scientists and engineers (mechanical, electrical, software) to evaluate and test new hardware, making improvements when necessary
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Science in Electrical Engineering
- Hands on PCB design experience, having worked with RF / DC drivers and high voltage power supplies
- FPGA / MCU programming is desired; experience working with quadrupole / hexapole / octapole ion optics is a PLUS
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a small and highly collaborative R&D team
