Senior Materials and Chemistry Engineer-Liquid Cooling
Dell Technologies is expanding advanced liquid cooling technologies to enable the next generation of high performance and sustainable data center solutions. We are seeking a Senior Materials and Chemistry Engineer with a strong background in chemical analysis, materials characterization and fluid/material interactions to drive innovation in liquid cooled server architectures and cooling infrastructure.

What You’ll Achieve You will help shape Dell Technologies’ materials strategy for liquid cooling and contribute to innovations that support longterm reliability, sustainability, and nextgeneration product performance.
Key Responsibilities Develop materials strategies and select metals, polymers, elastomers and composites for liquidcooling components Define and execute analytical chemistry and materialscharacterization testing, including corrosion and fluidstability qualification programs Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and reliability teams to translate laboratory findings into design requirements and supplier specifications Lead materialsrelated failure analysis and rootcause investigations Drive sustainability initiatives focused on environmentally responsible materials, improved recyclability, and enhanced lifecycle durability
Requirements
Essential Requirements 5+ years of experience in chemical analysis and materials characterization Handson experience with Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), electrochemical analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy with EnergyDispersive Xray Spectroscopy (SEM/EDS), Xray Diffraction (XRD), Xray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), or similar techniques Understanding of corrosion mechanisms, coolant chemistry, fluid/material compatibility, coatings and surfacetreatment methods Proven success collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams Excellent communication skills, problemsolving ability and technical documentation
Desirable Undergraduate degree in related engineering degree (materials, mechanical etc.) Background in directtochip liquid cooling, metallurgical principles, and metaljoining methods (e.g., welding, brazing)
Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $116,450 - $150,700.
