Job Description:

The Chemistry Department at Binghamton University (SUNY) anticipates one tenure-track faculty opening in experimental Bioinorganic Chemistry at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2027. Candidates with research interests in inorganic chemistry at the interface of biochemistry/chemical biology are especially encouraged to apply.

The Chemistry Department's strategic plan anticipates growth in biological, materials, and environmental research. The successful applicant will develop an externally funded research program as a faculty member in the Chemistry Department as well as the recently established Biochemistry and Chemical Biology (BCCB) Graduate Program at Binghamton University. The Chemistry Department is housed in the Smart Energy Building, a state-of-the-art research facility with access to core facilities serving a large community of scientists in chemistry and other STEM disciplines.

Potential candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, inorganic chemistry or a related field with postdoctoral research experience and a proven track record of publications, and outstanding organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Track record of publications or peer-reviewed work
