| Position Description | We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in Bernhardt lab at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. The work of the Bernhardt lab is focused on bacterial cell biology and molecular microbiology. We welcome applications from recent PhD graduates who are interested in these or related fields, particularly those who may bring a new technology or perspective to bear on the work in the lab. The postdoc would design and carry out independent research projects, use molecular genetics, microscopy, biochemistry, and related approaches to study bacterial growth and envelope biology, analyze and present data, prepare manuscripts and fellowship materials, maintain appropriate research records, and work collaboratively with other lab members. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Bernhardt to develop an independent research project within the scope of the lab's research focus. In addition to carrying out bench research, the successful candidate will be expected to apply for fellowship funding, contribute to the writing of grants and manuscripts, participate in teaching and mentoring of lab members as needed, and otherwise contribute to overall lab operations and collaborative environment. Salary and Benefits This position is salaried and benefits eligible. With this appointment, you are represented by the Harvard Academic Workers (HAW) UAW for purposes of collective bargaining and matters affecting your compensation and working conditions. |
