Position Description:
The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisville invites applications for a part-time lecturer for the fall 2026 term (September 15th - December 13th). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Unit Operations Laboratory (CHE485).
The Speed School of Engineering (SSE) is home to seven academic departments including Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The SSE is also home to the CONN Center for Renewable Energy. This interdisciplinary research center promotes novel experimental and theoretical research related to biofuels/biomass conversion and many other areas allied with energy sustainability. Also closely affiliated with the SSE is the Rapid Prototyping Center, the Micro/Nano Technology Center.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills, including working with a diverse population.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and student success
- Experience in Unit Operations laboratory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and interest interacting with senior students.
- Experience teaching Unit Operations Laboratory and evaluating ABET student outcomes.
- Interest and experience using evidence-based teaching practices and active learning
- Interest and experience in continuous course improvement based on ABET student outcomes
