- Process Engineer
Description
Are you passionate about optimizing manufacturing processes and driving operational excellence? We are seeking a Process Engineer to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations in our protein hydrolysates manufacturing facility. In this role, you will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, R&D, and other stakeholders to improve processes, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and manage capital projects that enhance plant performance and reliability.
As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting production operations while leading technical and engineering improvements across the facility. You will work closely with plant personnel to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, conduct process trials, optimize yields and throughput, and implement Lean Six Sigma-driven improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
Operations Support
- Partner with production teams to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate process trials for troubleshooting and product development.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve yield, efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction.
- Support safety, environmental, quality, and change-management initiatives.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Capital Project Management
- Define project scope and user requirements based on operational and business needs.
- Lead projects from concept through startup, including equipment selection, design review, budgeting, risk assessment, installation, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure project quality and successful execution.
- Provide regular project updates and ensure smooth handover to operating teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of unit operations such as filtration, evaporation, reactions, heat exchange, and drying.
- Understanding of GMP and food safety requirements.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Experience supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation is preferred.
