| Position Summary: | Why work at Villanova?
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Villanova University has an opening for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at all levels. Candidates will be considered for Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank commensurate with their education and experience. The Department is looking for a creative and energetic faculty member that will complement and enhance the Program. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional potential with respect to research, scholarly activity, teaching and service within the Chemical Engineering discipline. Areas of interest include sustainability, advanced materials, systems engineering, computational chemistry, catalysis, energy, process design and optimization, AI applications in Chemical Engineering and other fields relevant to Chemical Engineering. Leadership and/or entrepreneurial experience within an academic, research, industry, or service environment is desired. This position is expected to support and contribute to the strategic plans for Villanova University, College of Engineering, and department of Chemical and Biological Engineering by addressing global challenges that include human health, water-energy-food nexus, environmental sustainability, advanced manufacturing and sustainable engineering. The candidate will also be expected to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The appointment begins in August 2027. The University is strongly rooted in a sense of community, and the CBE Department and the College of Engineering are deeply committed to work-life balance. In addition, the University has also established the Center for Faculty Leadership and Success (CFLS), supported by an NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation Grant, to create meaningful learning and development opportunities for all faculty.
