The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at Rose-Hulman seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Chemistry and Biochemistry to begin August 2027. Candidates with advanced experience may be considered for appointment at a higher academic rank. The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department consists of ten faculty and offers two undergraduate degrees, a B.S. in Chemistry, and a B.S. in Biochemistry. Both degrees are certified by ACS. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is a top undergraduate STEM college. The scenic campus in west-central Indiana is home to 2,100 students with a passion for STEM and learning. Essential job responsibilities include teaching and advising students, continued professional development, and service to the department, Institute, and professional community. The primary teaching expectations for this position will be collaboratively taught general chemistry lecture and lab, as well as advanced undergraduate courses in physical chemistry and in the candidate’s areas of specialization. Members of the department are also expected to demonstrate sustained intellectual development that will include participation as a mentor in our intensive undergraduate research program.
Requirements include a terminal degree in chemistry, biochemistry, materials science, biophysics or closely related field.
