TheDepartment of Chemistryat Université Laval is inviting applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the field of chemistry with a focus on cosmeceuticals/cosmetology.
We are seeking candidates whose research aligns, among other areas, with one or more of the following fields:
Dermatochemistry
Sustainable and/or bio-based materials and raw materials
Formulation science
Active ingredients engineering and delivery
Characterization and safety assessment of active ingredients and formulations
Digital tools and artificial intelligence for formulations
Flavour, fragrance, and perfume chemistry
Natural products and active cosmeceuticals
Metabolomics
The successful candidate will be required to teach in French at the undergraduate and graduate levels, particularly in the cosmeceutical chemistry program (which is one-of-a-kind in Canada), and to establish a highlevel research program in chemistry with a focus on cosmeceuticals/cosmetology.

Hiring and treatment
The salary and benefits are determined by the current collective agreement between professors and the university.

Job starting date

Requirements
The successful candidate must :
hold a doctoral degree and have research experience in one of the targeted fields
have recently published research articles
be able to provide quality teaching of chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels in a French-speaking context
be able to develop a high-quality research program in their domain of expertise
be able to interact effectively with existing groups and research centers to strengthen the scientific excellence and coherence of ongoing research activities.

Since Université Laval is a French-language institution, the successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry in French within a maximum of three years from the start date. New professors whose first language is not French receive institutional support to help them attain the level of language proficiency required for their duties.
